The flexibility of Charvet One works well for Clayton Hotel City of London

Ideally located for the City of London financial district or for exploring all the sights, Clayton Hotel City of London is the third hotel under the Clayton brand in London. Owned by the Dalata Hotel Group, the two existing Clayton hotels are in Chiswick and Cricklewood.

Dining options include the Grill Restaurant, ‘using the very best of local British produce and influence from our East London location’ and the Globe Bar & Restaurant, which focuses on craft beer, gin and fine wine, serving brunch daily and then seasonal bar food.

Charvet partner distributor Court Catering Equipment supplied a complete design and installation package including kitchen equipment, refrigeration, dishwashing and bar.

The mainstay of the kitchen is a Charvet ONE heavy-duty modular cooking suite in island format. The suite includes four solid top sections, a rise and fall salamander, two fryers, three chargrills, a pot shelf and a bratt pan. The suite also includes two static ovens under and several open storage cupboards.

Mounted at the end of the cooking suite are two combi ovens for baking, roasting and steaming.

Says Court Catering Equipment Director, Andy Fitzwater: “We chose the Charvet brand of cooking equipment because at the heart of the original design scheme was a window into the kitchen where diners could sit at a chef’s table and be entertained by the show kitchen beyond.

“Charvet is a robust brand with a proven history.”

Gary Allen, Sales Development Manager, Charvet: “With a change of ownership mid-way through the project, the emphasis changed and Court and Charvet adapted plans accordingly. One of the key strengths of the Charvet One modular suite is flexibility, which worked perfectly for this installation, as it allowed us to make the changes the client needed.”
